Power Transmission Through Power Trains

Power is transmitted through a power train. Study Figure 6.8 again. Can you predict how much power is available at either shaft A or shaft B? The answer 50 horsepower is correct. If we assume no frictional losses in the power train, we will get out all of the power we put in. This can be demonstrated by using the horsepower equation to solve for the power available at shaft A.
