All these parameters have direct/indirect influence on the occurrence of fire and were integrated using GIS and a multi parametric weighted index model has been adopted to derive the 'fire-risk' zone map. It is classified into 6 risk zones. It was observed that very high and high zones are mostly at the fringe of the protected area or within 100 m of the roads passing through the region with temperature above 40oC and humidity less than 35%. Apart from human interference the analysis has shown that vegetation type and meteorological parameters have vital importance for hazard zonation.
