Forests preceed civilizations, Deserts follow them
Restoration Strategies: A Brief Overview
Orthodox reclamation projects involve tree planting and, in some cases, the transport of water to nurture young trees. Most reforestation schemes fail because they do not employ broad ecological strategies. We believe that receptive ecosystems must be created and put in place before rapid restoration and reforestation can be accomplished. This would include water, soil, organic matter and myriads of microorganisms, all of which might be absent at the outset. It should be mentioned that some of our ecological methods will remain proprietory until the first projects are successfully completed. This is not to lock up the information, but more to develop the initial credibility and economic strength of The Company of Stewards. Eventually, we want all of our techniques and biological materials to become available for comparable work by others. In fact, an advisory and supply service might well grow out of the schemes described here.

Do we really want the one thing that gives us its resources unconditionally to suffer even more than it is suffering now? Nature, is a part of our being from the earliest human days. We respect Nature and it gives us its bounty, but in the recent past greedy money hungry corporations have made us all so destructive, so wasteful.
